Isabel Allende on the 40th Anniversary of the Chilean Coup

Thanks to everyone who was able to join us last Wednesday at La Pena to commemorate the 40th Anniversary of the Chilean Coup. It turned out to be a powerful event, full of vibrant voices and thoughtful tributes to those who stood against repression. Special thanks to Nina Serrano, Lincoln Bergman and Alejandro Murguia for their powerful poetry and Rico Pabon and Camilo Landau for their soulful musical contributions. One of the highlights of the evening was the premier of our short video with author Isabel Allende who experiencing the coup and was forced to flee Chile when General Pinochet and the military took power with complete US backing.
